Have you ever wished to have a landscape mode on your Sony CLIE TH/NZ/NX or on your Garmin iQue 3600? Now your dreams have come true. The utility implements standard PalmSource Pen Input Manager API 1.1. Practically this means that any application that works in landscape mode on Tungsten|T3, Tungsten|T5 or Zodiac handhelds will work in landscape mode on Sony CLIE and Garmin iQue 3600 handhelds.
Please note, that for Garmin iQue 3600 to work in landscape, it is necessary to have system update 5.2.1r3 (January 2005). You can download this update from the Garmin web-site.
Please try the demo before buying to make sure it works with your programs.
Known issues
- NetFront sometimes does not collapse correctly (its icons get lost) if it was started
fullscreen in portrait and switched to landscape. Launching it from landscape work-arounds the problem. Closing-Reopening VG also work-arounds the problem
- It is hard to enter capital letters in rotated VG. Graffiti Anywhere (freeware) works perfectly.
- Restricted apps are apps that are forced to run in native orientation of the device. I.e. for NX/NZ/TH such an app will be switched to portrait mode, for UX series devices it will be switched to landscape mode. E.g. Audio Player, CLIE Camera, Movie Recorder, Movie Player, CLIE Demo, Flash Player, Digitizer Setup Panel, some games.
How to switch orientation
Status bar on the PALM has the area where the current time is shown. It is subdivided into two equal areas. Left area will switch orientation from portrait to reverse landscape or vice versa. Tapping on the right area will switch orientation from portrait to landscape or vice versa. The restricted apps may disable orientation trigger.
How to uninstall the app
- Do a warm reset: press the left button on TH-55 (the Page Up button on the others), then press the stylus in the reset hole while holding the left button. The handheld will start without the silk area (this is normal). Just tap on the place where the home icon usually located to get into the standard launcher
- Delete the program's database (PinMgrDemo or PinMgr) using the launcher menu (App->Delete)
- Reset again via pin hole
